Kevin Miller, Executive in Residence, School of Business and Leadership at Colorado Christian University
Kevin Miller currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Business and Leadership in the School of Business at Colorado Christian University. He is the co-founder of a web-based services firm and the founder and president of Whitestone Miller, Inc., a venture consulting firm. Through WMI, Miller has served Fortune 500 firms and privately held companies, with special focus on organizations in transition, including start-ups and turnarounds.
In the 1990s, Miller served first as the founding Dean and then as Distinguished Professor in the School of Business and Leadership at Colorado Christian University.
Prior to that, Miller served in key executive capacities for organizations in transition in industry sectors such as insurance, real estate, and higher education. Miller began his career at Ernst & Young in Dallas, Texas, primarily serving Fortune 500 clients in manufacturing, finance, and defense.
Miller is the co-founder and President of Whitestone Leadership Forum, a non-profit focused on Christian education and outreach. Miller is also the co-founder and presenter for Vanguard Roundtable, a discussion group for Christians focused on public policy and politics. He is a Fellow of the Centennial Institute, a public policy think tank, and author of the book Freedom Nationally, Virtue Locally – or Socialism. Miller also served in on-air personality roles for the radio programs Executive Notebook and Go Beyond.
Kevin Miller served as Board Chair for COMPA/FoodWorks, a ministry for vocational training, life skills development, and food provision in Denver, Colorado, and served his church homes over the years in various capacities ranging from missions leader to capital campaign steering committee member to orchestra musician to teacher.
Dr. Gary Ewen, Dean of the School of Business and Leadership at Colorado Christian University
Dr. Gary Ewen has been the Dean of the School of Business and Leadership at Colorado Christian University since 2010. Prior to his current role as Dean, he served in a variety of roles at CCU including sixteen years as the CIO. In July 2000, Dr. Ewen received the award for Institutional Excellence in Telecommunications from the Association of College and University Telecommunications Administrators (ACUTA). Dr. Ewen has been awarded millions of dollars for technological grants for CCU over the years and he has authored several computer applications textbooks for Addison-Wesley and Prentice Hall as well as several instructional computer software programs.
In addition to a variety of administrative roles, Dr. Ewen has been a member of the CCU faculty since 1987. In May 2004 Dr. Ewen was honored as the Faculty Member of the Year by the CCU Business Student Society (Chi Beta Sigma) and was chosen as Faculty Member of the Year by the entire CCU student body in 2007. Prior to coming to CCU in 1987, Dr. Ewen enjoyed careers in the aerospace industry and the public schools.
Dr. Ewen has trained and consulted on four continents in the areas of leadership studies, IT management, instructional technologies, analytical trouble-shooting, as well as management problem solving and decision-making. An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Ewen resides in the mountain community of Evergreen, Colorado.
Ron Rex, Professor of Management Studies, School of Business and Leadership at Colorado Christian University
Ron’s career started at Allstate Insurance Company as a sales agent. He held every sales position in the corporation over the next 15 years and held over 12 levels of corporate responsibility where he engaged in proficiency development in the sales process, business planning, project management, building of distribution capacity across multiple channels, retention economics, and entrepreneurial relationships.
He has worked with major consulting houses while in Fortune 500 including McKinsey and Company, Bearing Point, Bain and Company, Accenture, Shaffer and Associates, Hewitt and Associates, and Sibson.
These experiences qualified Ron to be elected as an officer of the company in 1994. In the last 10 plus years of service, he served as the Field Vice President of a ten state region.
Ron elected early retirement in 2006. This allowed him time to develop a career of significance in higher education. He joined Colorado Christian University as an Executive in Residence, and also served on the Cabinet of the university as Vice President of University Advancement. He currently holds the position of Professor of Management and Marketing Studies.
Ron has also established a variety of diverse business ventures including The Succession Group, d.b.a. Synchrony, In C Suite, and Premier Pet Services. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Colorado Family Services; is President of the CCU Foundation; and is President of the Board of ANUView.
